In a world where hybrid working, sustainability, and efficiency are becoming increasingly important, founders Luke van der Wardt (CEO) and Dennis van den Berg (CTO) are building two complementary solutions: MyPup and Parzelo. Jessica Schout, responsible for Sales, Marketing & Customer Success, works closely with Luke to translate MyPup’s vision to the market and the people behind the buildings. What started as a smart approach to parcel delivery has grown into a broader perspective on liveability and internal logistics. In this interview, Luke and Jessica share their motivations, insights, and ambitions.

MyPup (My Pick Up Point) bundles parcels from all delivery services at a central location on the edge of the city and delivers them in one emission-free trip per day to pick-up points in offices, apartment complexes, and neighbourhoods. This saves an average of 10 delivery trips per building per day, making parcel delivery safer, more organised, efficient, and sustainable for both end users and the city.

Parzelo is MyPup’s software solution, helping organisations optimise their internal logistics so that processes around issuing, exchanges, IT distribution, and click & collect run smarter, more transparently (traceable), and in a more user-friendly way, with higher efficiency and fewer errors.

  Background & Vision

1. What is your background and where do you stand today?

Luke: After studying Business Administration, I started working at a bank but soon saw opportunities to organise logistics in a smarter and more sustainable way. That’s how MyPup was born: a solution for the growing stream of parcels in office buildings. Today, we serve a wide range of locations—from residential complexes to hospitals and new neighbourhoods. By consolidating parcel flows and delivering with one driver, we make delivery safer, more sustainable, and more convenient.

Jessica: I’ve been with MyPup for almost two years now, after more than twenty years in commercial roles, mainly at scale-ups with a sustainable and people-focused story. At MyPup, everything came together: a vision I believe in, a team eager to grow, and a product that truly works. That gives me energy.

2. What impact do you want to make?

Luke: Our impact lies in reducing traffic movements in built-up areas. With MyPup, we consolidate parcel flows, reducing the number of trips and making delivery more efficient and sustainable. Parzelo helps organisations optimise their internal logistics. What matters to me is that this genuinely adds value to sustainability in the last-mile chain.

Jessica: For me, impact is also about people - both internally and externally: creating space for development, taking inclusion seriously, and ensuring everyone feels seen and heard.

3. What sets your company apart?

Luke: We genuinely reduce congestion around buildings. We’re a supplier in the real estate market, which makes us something of an outsider—the postman of the property world, so to speak. That’s a good analogy, because it means we also see what’s happening from the sidelines. Feedback we often receive is that both our clients and end users appreciate not only our solution but also our personal approach and accessibility. That’s why usage keeps growing year after year.

Jessica: What sets us apart is that we always start with the end user. We may be the “postman of the property market,” as Luke nicely puts it, but that gives us a unique view of what’s happening inside buildings. We literally go everywhere and see where things rub and where they can improve.

4. Where does your strength lie and what drives you?

Jessica: Our strength lies in connecting technology, sustainability, and service. We create less congestion, more safety, and better building use—in a personal and engaged way.

Luke: Satisfied end users and clients, the CO₂ impact we achieve, and certainly our employees. Inclusivity and involvement are essential to who we are.

Leadership & Collaboration

5. What characterises your way of working together at MyPup?

Luke: Our way of working reflects MyPup’s cultural values: progressive, direct, and future-oriented. We say what we stand for, keep our promises, and communicate transparently.

Jessica: Collaboration is about trust, transparency, and shared responsibility. We keep each other sharp but also give space to grow—direct, but always respectful.

6. How do you complement each other within the team?

Jessica: Luke and our other founder, Dennis, are strong in setting the strategic vision. My role is to translate that vision to the market and our clients, and certainly to our colleagues. I also bring the customer’s voice back inside, so we keep building solutions that truly matter.

7. What do you learn from the people around you?

Luke: Your product improves when you really listen and actively act on feedback. For me personally, leadership doesn’t always mean acting immediately - sometimes it’s about observing and taking time to understand what’s going on.

8. How do you motivate people?

Luke: Everyone makes a significant contribution to the impact we achieve. We communicate that, and it motivates people. We also have an open work culture, which is a major motivator for many employees.

Jessica: I always try to create space for personal growth and development because motivated people are those who feel seen and valued. It’s also important to be enthusiastic about what you’re doing and believe in what we’re trying to achieve - that’s contagious!

9. Where do you find daily inspiration?

Luke: Clients, end-users and employees.

Jessica: I agree with Luke – that’s the foundation for everything. For me, connecting with people and contributing to sustainability and social impact are also very important. 10. What’s your vision on developing talent within an organisation? Jessica: I aim for my team members to surpass me in knowledge and skills in their field. I’ve learned that there’s not just one road to Rome, but many. As long as our goals are clear, the path they set based on their expertise is often the right one.

11. How do you stay focused on your main objectives?

Luke: By saying “no” to distractions and keeping goals sharp.

Jessica: For me, focus is about making clear choices. In a fast-growing organisation, there’s always a lot happening, but that’s when it’s most important to return to our core. Clear goals, involvement and learning together ensure everyone stays connected to the bigger picture.

Future & Market Developments 12. What’s the most important development you see in the market for MyPup?

Luke: We see growing acceptance of collecting parcels from lockers.

Jessica: This trend works in MyPup’s favour. As locker use becomes more common, we need to convince end users and clients less about the value of our model.

Luke: Acceptance is already there; we build on that with a solution that’s safer, more sustainable, and user-friendly. Plus, it’s white-label and not limited to one provider or courier service.

13. And for Parzelo, MyPup’s software solution?

Luke: Trends like hybrid working and the need for end-to-end traceability are playing an increasingly important role, and our solution is widely applicable and fits well with that.

14. Where do you see innovation and how do you contribute?

Luke: Innovation at MyPup is mainly about improving the customer experience. You also need to keep innovating in vehicles and staff wellbeing. A good example is using e-scooters, which make it easier to deliver in cities that are becoming less car-friendly.

Jessica: For me, innovation isn’t just about technology but about how you bring people along in change and listen to their feedback. We actively do that and translate it into concrete improvements. For example, we recently added an option in our app allowing users to choose a locker at their preferred height for delivery—a practical way to promote inclusivity.

15. If you could radically change one system or process in the property world, what would it be and why? Luke: If I could radically change one thing in the property world, it would be the way decisions are made. We need more housing, but the number of rules and procedures slows everything down. That frustrates me because it leads to stagnation. I believe we need to simplify – and if we do that with sustainability as the starting point, we’ll end up in the right place. After all, no one wants to deliver a product that isn’t sustainable anymore.

16. What call would you make to decision-makers in the property sector?Jessica: Dare to choose solutions that are not only efficient but also sustainable and people-focused. Look beyond the short term and invest in systems that im

prove the liveability of buildings and their surroundings.

Personal & Inspiring

17. Who would you like to have a conversation with?

Luke: All CEOs of parcel companies, to ensure better collaboration in this chain. Our model works, but it would be great if providers didn’t just benefit from it but worked with us to truly improve the chain.

Jessica: It would be inspiring to sit at the table where policy influence happens and explore together how we can transform parcel delivery into something that’s not only efficient but also contributes to liveable cities, satisfied residents, and a lower ecological footprint. Done well, logistics can spark a huge positive movement.

18. Where do you hope to be in five years—personally and as a company?

Luke: Hopefully still in the same place, but with a bit more room for relaxation. At the same time, we want MyPup and Parzelo to make more impact: active in new segments and cities, and helping organisations worldwide organise their logistics more smartly. Where we stand depends on what our clients and colleagues need—we’ll move with that.

Jessica: In five years, I hope I’m still working on this product I believe in, with people who inspire me. I want to keep building meaningful relationships and contribute to MyPup’s growth as a leading player in sustainable logistics while staying people-focused.

19. What motivates you to make a difference every day?

Luke: I see daily how much impact we make on buildings, on people, and on the city. That motivates me to keep improving and building solutions that truly work.

Jessica: For me, motivation lies in meaningful work. When I see that our approach helps people, improves processes, and contributes to sustainability, I know why I do this.

20. What gives you the most energy or inspiration outside of work?

Luke: Time with friends and family, sports, and occasionally completely disconnecting from work. That keeps me sharp and balanced.

Jessica: I spend a lot of time with family and friends. That gives me energy- they’re also people who inspire me enormously. From cooking together to good conversations and long walks in nature.
